The 'secret' to bigger arms!! The fact is, if you're not applying tension to your biceps and triceps throughout the full range of movement, then you're missing out on arm size. A regular curl, whether using dumbbells or a barbell, will apply varying loads to your biceps throughout the movement - minimal to start with, increasing to maximum load about halfway, then reducing off to minimal load again at the top of the movement.
